HOW TO CALCULATE THE VOLUME OF WATER IN A RECTANGULAR TANK

How to measure water tank capacity?

To measure the capacity of the tank, you will need to do some simple calculations.

·         Measure the length, width, and height of your water tank in feet.

·         Convert the measurements to centimeters since the standard unit for volume is cubic centimeters (cm³), and 1 litre is equal to 1000 cm³.

·         Calculate the volume in cubic centimeters.

·         Convert the volume from cubic centimeters to liters by dividing by 1000.

Volume (in cm³)

Length (cm) × Width (cm) × Height (cm)

 = Volume (in cm³) / 1000

Suppose you have a rectangular water tank with the following dimensions:

·         Length = 5 feet

·         Width = 3 feet

·         Height = 4 feet

Convert the dimensions to centimeters:

·         Length = 5 feet × 30.48 cm/foot

= 152.4 cm

·         Width = 3 feet × 30.48 cm/foot

 = 91.44 cm

·         Height = 4 feet × 30.48 cm/foot

= 121.92 cm

Calculate the volume:

Volume = 152.4 cm × 91.44 cm × 121.92 cm

= 1696840.4864 cm³

Now for volume to liters:

Capacity = 1696840.4864 cm³ / 1000

   = 1696.8404864 liters

So, the capacity of the water tank is approximately 1696.84 liters.
